Every year, the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society pays over £1M in grants to the dependants of those lost at sea, as well as sick, disabled, and retired seafarers struggling to make ends meet. For the often marginalised and forgotten maritime community we serve, the last few years have been particularly difficult and continue to blight the lives of many, including some who are feeling helpless and vulnerable.
